today i'm going to have to make an effort to do some fund raising. the reality of the advocacy world is that it does take money to do it. we are in jeopardy of losing the small place that we do our work out of and store whatever supplies we acquire. the rent is due and our wallets are empty. we have been teetering on the brink all winter and have only been able to survive by utilizing our own resources and money to continue. we need to raise $800.00 dollars by monday morning or we will have to move from our very small facility and discontinue most of our work. i have discussed this with an agency's street outreach worker and he advised me to just be blunt and if that didn't work to beg. i'll defer on the begging but blunt will work. if we manage to raise the $800.00 we will continue to utilize our own money and resources and continue to help and advocate for the homeless whenever and wherever we can. we will continue to watch homeless organizations and agencies and speak what we consider the truth. we will continue to silently help the homeless when they call us with a legitimate need and help with the critical situations that arise.we will continue our covert partnership with some of the street outreach workers and our supplying them with what we can. if we cannot raise the money and lose our small facility, then once again we will have to rethink our situation, what we do and whether or not we can continue. it's always a tough decision and it's always based on whether we can afford to continue.
i don't want to be faced with that again and i don't want to have to deal with the reality of having to cease what we're doing. please help us to continue and retain our base of operation. go to the donate section and give what you can. don't think you can't make a difference with a small donation. help us to continue to help the homeless.
see you around town
